Thrill ride
September 23, 2013 in Lymphoma by Reta Reed
Doesn’t he look like the cat that swallowed the canary? Dr. Gleason let Jeff get behind the wheel of his new toy and they went for a little joy ride today. Jeff burned a little rubber (see Magnolia Avenue) and gave Dr. Gleason a jolt 🙂 Jeff has been obsessing about cars and auctions for the past few months and this was the cherry on top. Tremendous thanks to Dr. Gleason for putting a huge smile on Jeff’s face!
We’ll go on our own “thrill ride” tomorrow, making a round trip to Houston for a biopsy of Jeff’s tumor – required for the clinical trial. He has been accepted and should start treatment on Thursday – necessitating yet another round trip to Houston. I’m excited for him to be starting treatment and, once again, on the road to getting better!
too bad it is a chevy!!! ha I am eating my heart out!!
Jeff, I have sat at this computer for a minute now just thinking of the right thing to say and I have to admit words are so hard to find right now. I do wish I could just sit with you right now and hold your hand. I wish I could tell you that this is just a bad dream and you will wake up and all will be ok. But I cant and this is just plain horrible what you are going through. I do pray for you and your family. I am a believer in Devine Healing. I am a believer in God and believe that He will give you comfort in this situation. God asks that you trust in Him, believe in Him and to have Faith in Him. I know we all ask “Why would God allow me or my family to go through something like this” but the statement should be I KNOW GOD WILL SEE ME THROUGH THIS AND WILL GIVE ME COMFORT THROUGH OUT THIS. God asks that we lean more on him and to Cast our burdens on him. I have grown to love you and Reta in such a short time. If there is anything I can do please call on me. 817-681-6889.
PSALMS 103: 2-13
Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind he is. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy. He fills my life with good things, so that I can stay young and strong like an eagle. The Lord judges in favor of the oppressed and gives them their rights. He revealed his plans to Moses and let the people of Israel see his mighty deeds. The Lord is merciful and loving, slow to become angry and full of constant love. He does not keep on rebuking: he is not angry forever. He does not punish us as we deserve or repay us according to our sins and wrongs. As high as the sky is above the earth, so great is his love for those who honor him. As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us. As a father is kind to his children, so the Lord is kind to those who honor him.
I love you friend 🙂
Everyone needs to burn a little rubber ever once in a while.
Jeff, you are making that car look gooood!
